Moto Guzzi V7

The Moto Guzzi V7 is one of the most iconic motorcycles from the Italian manufacturer Moto Guzzi. It represents a blend of classic design, transverse V-twin engine heritage, and modern updates that keep the bike relevant through decades of evolution. The V7 has been a key model in the brand’s lineup since its introduction in the 1960s, symbolizing both tradition and accessible Italian motorcycling.
Moto Guzzi V7 - History
- 1967 – Original V7: Introduced as Moto Guzzi’s first large-capacity road bike, powered by a 703 cc V-twin. It was designed by Giulio Cesare Carcano, initially for the Italian police and military.
- 1969 – V7 Special: Improved version with more power (757 cc) and enhanced comfort. It began Guzzi’s move into the touring motorcycle market.
- 1971 – V7 Sport: The sportier, performance-focused variant with a 744 cc engine and a lower frame. Often considered the ancestor of Guzzi’s modern roadsters.
- 2008 – V7 Classic (Modern Rebirth): Moto Guzzi revived the V7 name with a modern, retro-styled roadster using a 744 cc air-cooled V-twin. It combined classic looks with modern reliability and fuel injection.
- 2012–2014 – V7 II: Introduced 6-speed gearbox, ABS, and traction control. Improved ergonomics and chassis stiffness.
- 2017 – V7 III: 50th anniversary edition with a new engine, Euro 4 compliance, and variants like Stone, Special, Racer, and Rough.
